In the economy of Dubai, there exists a large opportunity gap for the migrant workforce. Despite the fact that the migrants form the backbone of the infrastructure, many of them continue to be confined to low mobility status because of the lack of formal certification and linguistic proficiency. According to UNESCO, migrants who possess recognized qualifications stand a better chance of receiving higher remuneration compared to those who do not, though the opportunity for them to receive such recognition remains limited. According to ILO, migrants face the risk of wage stagnation because of linguistic and vocational documentation, which prevents them from rising into technical roles.
The goal of SkillBridge Society (SBS), when we started, was simple: tear down barriers that hold people back. To us, being employable is about having the skills and being able to communicate across cultures. By providing technician training, basic computer knowledge, and Arabic resources, we help workers become certified professionals. Our goal is to replace systemic exclusion with real economic opportunities, making sure that every worker has the credentials they need for a stable and growing career.
